Kelly Hockett, MSSW, SWLC
Hello, and welcome - whatever has brought you here, it’s lovely to meet you. Regardless of how you are hoping to grow or heal, my style is process driven and rooted in self-guided meaning making. I take a culturally-attuned and trauma-informed approach, and view therapy as a space to cultivate healing, connection, and change. With compassion, curiosity, (and a little humor), we will explore existing patterns, coping methods, and relationships in your life. We will honor your emotions and past experiences and gently challenge that which is no longer serving you
I use a warm and eclectic approach with a cultural-relational focus - meaning I like to pull from various therapeutic methods to meet your unique needs and foster our relationship. My goal is that that our work together will both allow you to feel safe showing up just as you are, and support you in finding growth as your most authentic and free self. With that in mind, a few styles that guide my work are Emotions-Focused, Attachment, Acceptance and Commitment and Cognitive-Behavioral.
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, an advocate for HAES, and committed to anti-racism work including continual exploration of my own biases. In therapy, I will encourage you to find joy and purpose outside of work or school and my life looks no different! In my free time my spirits are high when I’m curled up with a good story, lost in deep conversation with loved ones, traveling to new sites, or scrambling up rock faces and through alpine meadows. You might also find me practicing creativity through cooking & DIY projects, or snuggling with my beloved pup.
